Associate Member Council (AMC) 2023-2026 Election

The AACR Associate Member Council (AMC) represents over 25,000 members who are graduate students, medical students and residents, and clinical and postdoctoral fellows, and provides a voice for early-career researchers to the AACR leadership. The council supports the AACR’s mission to prevent and cure cancer by promoting the professional development of early-career members throughout the world, developing initiatives and services to address the needs of early-career investigators in cancer research, providing a venue for collegial discussion about the challenges of a career in cancer research and supporting AACR efforts to recruit, retain and engage early-career researchers in the membership. Visit www.aacr.org/associate for additional information.

Eligibility Requirements

  • To be eligible for the council, Associate members must remain eligible for Associate membership throughout their term of service.

Application Instructions

All registrants will be required to submit the following:

  • Application for Candidacy
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) (an NIH biographical sketch will not be accepted) and Bibliography (list of publications)  
  • Letter of recommendation from your primary mentor* (*please note, a letter of nomination will additionally be required/accepted only from an AACR Active or Emeritus member if the primary mentor is not currently an AACR Active or Emeritus Member in good standing).

All application and supplemental materials must be submitted via the online application form in PDF format.

Once the application period ends, members of the current council will conduct a thorough and intensive review of all eligible applications. Four new members of the council will be announced to begin their service term at the AACR Annual Meeting 2023. All applicants are notified of the status of their application, regardless of the decision.
